  • Regulatory Adherence: Built to meet Google Play Developer Program Policies, GDPR (EU 2016/679), CCPA/CPRA, and Brazilian LGPD.

How We Use Your Information

The information processed by File Organizer is used strictly for the following purposes:

  • Automated Document Classification: Categorizing documents into Work, Invoices, Receipts, Contracts, Code, Media, or Uncategorized using file extensions, header keywords, and heuristic matching.
  • Storage & Intelligence Analytics: Calculating device capacity consumption, category percentages, and confidence metrics in the Analytics dashboard.
  • Search and Filtering: Providing real-time search queries across document names, categories, and content snippets.
  • App Performance & Quality: Diagnosing exceptions and runtime bugs to maintain high reliability.

We do not use your documents or metadata for behavioral ad profiling, cross-site tracking, automated credit decisions, or commercial reselling.

04

Android Permissions Disclosures

In strict compliance with Google Play's Policy on Device and Network Abuse and Least-Privilege Principle, File Organizer requests only the minimum permissions required:

Permission Level Play Store Justification
android.permission.INTERNET Normal (Install-Time) Required for secure HTTPS API calls when utilizing server-side AI model classification (Gemini API) and fetching crash telemetry.
READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE NOT REQUESTED Not requested or declared. We do not ask for broad legacy external storage access.
MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE NOT REQUESTED Not requested. File Organizer respects user autonomy and complies with Scoped Storage.
05

Scoped Storage & SAF Compliance

Google Play policies mandate that applications targeting modern Android SDKs use Scoped Storage to protect user documents.

When you tap "Import Files", File Organizer invokes the Android native OpenMultipleDocuments contract via the system Storage Access Framework (SAF).

How SAF Protects Your Privacy
  • User-Initiated Selection: You choose exactly which specific files or folders to grant the app access to through the system UI.
  • No Background Sweeps: The app cannot autonomously scan, read, or catalog any files on your device that you have not explicitly selected.
  • Revocable URI Permissions: System grants temporary or persistent read permissions scoped strictly to chosen documents.
06

AI Document Categorization & Privacy

File Organizer features an intelligent classifier that helps sort documents into structured taxonomies:

  • Local Heuristic Classifier: By default, classification operates locally on your device by inspecting file extensions, MIME signatures, and extracted header keywords.
  • Server-Side Gemini AI Integration: When advanced AI auto-categorization is triggered, brief document excerpts are processed via Google Gemini API under encrypted TLS 1.3 tunnels.
  • No Model Training on User Data: Data sent for inference is processed ephemeral and stateless. User documents are not used to train or refine Google foundation models.
  • Full Offline Capability: Standard organization, search, filtering, and manual category management function 100% offline without any network connectivity.
07

Data Retention and Deletion Policy

You retain absolute sovereignty over all document records cataloged in File Organizer:

  • Immediate Document Deletion: Tapping "Delete Document" removes the file's index, tags, and cached snippets from the local Room database permanently.
  • Reset Sample Repository: You can purge or restore default sample files at any time from the app's Rules screen.
  • Complete Application Erasure: To completely wipe all records and state, navigate to Android Settings > Apps > File Organizer > Storage & Cache > Clear Storage, or uninstall the application. All local databases are permanently destroyed by the Android OS sandbox.
08

Children's Privacy Protection (COPPA / GDPR-K)

File Organizer is intended for general productivity audiences and is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the European Economic Area).

We do not knowingly collect, request, or solicit personal information from children. If you become aware that a child has provided us with personal information without parental consent, please contact us immediately at simbalimited26@gmail.com so we can promptly take appropriate corrective steps.

Depending on your jurisdiction, you have statutory privacy rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right to Access: You can inspect all indexed documents, categories, and tags directly inside the app interface.
  • Right to Rectification: You can edit file categories, re-assign tags, or re-run classification anytime.

  • Right to Non-Discrimination: We provide identical functionality and quality of service regardless of how you exercise your privacy rights.
